What’s your current position at your brewery, and how did you get started in the craft brewing industry?
I am the founder of Icicle Brewing Company, which we built in 2010, and our restaurant, München Haus, which we built in 2001. I love assisting our team with people development and onboarding, community outreach and continued diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts to improve systems to make sure our businesses are representative of our community, safe, and welcoming.

What’s new at Icicle?
I feel like there is always something new going on at Icicle, whether it is new and exciting beer releases, or fun collaborations with our community and industry friends. In 2019 we expanded our brewing operations with the construction of a production facility, while adding a five-barrel experimental brew system, along with a community gathering space at our brewpub/taproom.

What’s the best part of being a part of the craft brewing community?
I absolutely love the people I have met and the comradery in our collaborative and innovative industry. I have enjoyed so many amazing beers traveling around to different small and independent craft breweries in the U.S. and around the world.

Name a favorite food and beer pairing.
I have so many it is difficult to pick. I love exploring amazing food and beer pairings. I love pairing our Kickstand Pale Ale with a local Heidleburger swiss and mushroom burger and our Dirtyface Amber Lager/Märzen with our München Haus beerwurst (made with Dirtyface) topped with Dirtyface Amber stone ground mustard. Yum! For other favorites feel free to visit my Instagram @pamspairings.

What’s your biggest accomplishment unrelated to your job?
I have the most wonderful family: my husband Oliver and our three wonderful adult children, Gabrielle, Joshua, and Elise. I also am proud of my accomplishments serving with many non-profits and community organizations.

What’s your favorite beer from another brewery?
The small and independent beers my friends make are so wonderful I couldn’t possibly pick just one. Any beers with friends are my favorite.

What do you like to do in your time away from the brewery?
We live in the mountains so I love to hike, ski, camp, swim, paddleboard, and just being outdoors.

What’s the most memorable travel destination at which you’ve had a chance to sample the local beer?
We had a foreign exchange student from Köln who lived with us for almost a year and we are still close with him. When we visited him we had so much fun visiting the many breweries and sampling the Kölsch in the beautiful delicate stanges in the Kölsch kranz. I also loved enjoying the Festbier at Oktoberfest in the Hofbrau Munchen tent in Munich and touring the Cantillon brewery in Brussels.
