The Draught Beer Quality Workshop is a collaboration of draught quality related seminars conducted by members of the Brewers Association Draught Beer Quality Subcommittee. The intention of this workshop is to provide education for brewers, retailers, distributors, line cleaners, and draught installation companies on best practices for draught beer.
Sessions in this workshop are broken into two tracks: “Essential” and “Elective.” Essential seminars contain content essential for draught systems at every bar, restaurant, or brewpub. Elective seminars have either more specialized or advanced content.

About the Speakers
Matthew Davis, Quality Technician
Allagash Brewing Company
Mathew Davis began his career in craft beer in the Allagash Tasting Room. While there he learned the importance of a well designed and maintained draft system. He has spent the his career adding onto that interest by building and maintaining their draught systems, as well as designing educational programs for staff and accounts. In addition to his focus on draught, he also works in their Quality Department administering sensory panels, educating panelists, and working with their research and development team in new beer development.
Chris Shields, Director of Education
Rhinegeist Brewery
Chris Shields is the Director of Education for Rhinegeist Brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he performs staff, partner, and public trainings on beer and brewing. Before this role, Chris served as a brewer during Rhinegeist's rapid growth, developed their cider program, and has ten years of experience in the craft beer industry. Chris is an Advanced Cicerone®, Certified BJCP Judge, Certified Cider Professional, and serves on the Board for the OH Craft Brewers Assoc. He holds a MS in Biological Sciences and has studied at Siebel. Chris represents Rhinegeist in the Hop Quality Group and serves on the Brewers Association Draught Beer Quality Subcommittee.
