The Draught Beer Quality Workshop is a collaboration of draught quality related seminars conducted by members of the Brewers Association Draught Beer Quality Subcommittee. The intention of this workshop is to provide education for brewers, retailers, distributors, line cleaners, and draught installation companies on best practices for draught beer.
Sessions in this workshop are broken into two tracks: “Essential” and “Elective.” Essential seminars contain content essential for draught systems at every bar, restaurant, or brewpub. Elective seminars have either more specialized or advanced content.

About the Speakers
Jaime Jurado, Acting Chief Operating Officer
Alamo Beer Co., LLC
Jaime Jurado is a management and technical consultant with degrees in chemical and electrical engineering and two and a half years of postgraduate research in medical engineering at Oxford University. He studied brewing formally in Bavaria in 1983. Jaime served as President of the Master Brewers Association of the Americas and as Chair of a large section of the American Chemical Society. His work on draught dispense and his publications focused on draught dispense has traversed his career, when he served in roles such as brewery engineer, master brewer, director of brewing, production operations, and vice president across his career.
Ken Smith, Product Education Team
The Boston Beer Company
Ken Smith has been with The Boston Beer Company (BBC) for 26 years, has 36 years' industry experience, and is responsible for teaching everything "beer." He was the second person with Boston Beer to achieve Certified Cicerone® (there are currently 117 Certified Cicerones® working for BBC!) He is also a BJCP beer judge and an award-winning homebrewer. He has occupied a number of sales positions from district manager to region manager engaging in sales planning and execution. Most recently he was the Director of Training and taught classes on selling and negotiating skills, presentation skills, people development, and wholesaler interaction. Ken loves his job!
