“Brewing with a mission” means building in philanthropic giving as part of your brewery’s company culture and business plan. In this seminar, speakers Jack Dyer and Anne Marisic will examine how Topa Topa Brewing Company and Maine Beer Company took their passions for the environment and developed giving programs and partnerships into their business through their work with 1% for the Planet.
The speakers will discuss why their breweries felt that the environment was a part of their identity as a company and why they felt driven to give back. They will also provide an overview of the work they do with 1% for the Planet, including:
- How small, medium, and large companies can all make a difference
- How these two breweries partner with environmental nonprofits, and the different ways they are using beer and their beer communities to help in these efforts (in kind donations, naming beers, donating proceeds, hosting events, staff volunteer efforts, marketing)
- How a focus on environmentalism can connect to larger social issues
- How to communicate your mission
- How this is a benefit to your company and your community
